Abia State Police Command Concludes Intensive Combat Training for Newly Passed-Out Constables

The Abia State Police Command has successfully concluded a one-week intensive operational training programme for newly passed-out constables, reinforcing its commitment to professionalism and operational efficiency.

The training, which commenced on February 22, 2026, ended on Thursday, February 27, 2026, at about 6:00 p.m. with a practical shooting range exercise followed by a formal closing ceremony.

The programme focused on weapon handling and combat craft, with emphasis on enhancing tactical competence, building endurance and improving overall operational readiness.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa, commended the trainees for their resilience, discipline and dedication throughout the rigorous exercise. He described the successful completion of the training as a solid foundation for professionalism in service.

The Commissioner assured the constables of continuous support from the Command and charged them to effectively apply the knowledge and skills acquired in their respective divisions. He further urged them to uphold the values of integrity and discipline, noting that their conduct would contribute significantly to projecting a positive image of the Nigeria Police Force.

The Commissioner also applauded the Commander of the 28 Police Mobile Squadron Umuahia, Adesina Adeniran Adeyinka, as well as the Commander of CTU Base 4 Aba, Chisom Ezebuiro, and other instructors for their unwavering commitment and professionalism throughout the programme.

The trainees, in their response, expressed gratitude to the Command for the opportunity to undergo the intensive programme and pledged to remain dedicated, disciplined and professional in the discharge of their duties.

The training initiative underscores the Command’s determination to strengthen security operations across Abia State and ensure improved service delivery to the public.

Certificates were presented to all participating constables, with three male and three female officers receiving special recognition for outstanding performance during the training.
