CP Abia Meets with Strategic Command Officers, Announces Measures to Strengthen State Security

The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, has convened a strategic meeting with senior officers of the Command as part of ongoing efforts to bolster security across the state.

Addressing the officers, the CP commended their dedication to safeguarding schools, worship centres, and critical infrastructure. He urged them to remain vigilant and continue leveraging actionable intelligence to ensure the safety of citizens. CP Isa also reminded officers to prioritise their personal safety, as well as that of their stations and families.

In line with directives from the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), the Commissioner ordered that no officer should be found on highway duty, adding that all personnel attached to VIPs must be withdrawn.

He emphasised that all available manpower must be redeployed to strengthen internal security operations across the state, warning that disciplinary measures would be taken against any act of non-compliance.

CP Isa further disclosed that newly passed-out Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) would soon resume at the Command. He instructed Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to guide and support the new officers, noting that their postings must rotate through four key divisions Counter, Administration, Divisional Crime Branch (DCB), and Motor Traffic Department (MTD) during their one-year attachment. Any deviation from this structure, he said, would attract sanctions.

He also directed the Officer in Charge of Works to ensure the protection of all police landed properties. Additionally, the CP ordered that all transferred cases from sister security agencies be addressed directly to his office for appropriate directives to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for discreet investigation.

On discipline, CP Isa cautioned officers against violating the weekly police dress code, except where otherwise instructed.

He concluded the meeting by expressing appreciation to officers for their support during the 70th Anniversary Celebration of Women Police Officers. He encouraged them to sustain their commitment to maintaining peace and security across Abia State.
