Isuikwuato Community Celebrates Uwanna’s SAN Elevation, Applauds Gov Otti’s Leadership

The people of Isuikwuato Local Government Area in Abia State on Saturday organized a grand civic reception in honour of the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Ikechukwu Uwanna (SAN), while commending the State Governor, Alex Otti, for appointing him to the position.

The event, held at Anunco Field, drew government officials, political associates, traditional rulers and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate Uwanna’s recent elevation to the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

In his welcome address, the Mayor of Isuikwuato, Mr. Chinedu Ekeke, thanked Governor Otti for appointing Uwanna as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.

He said the appointment reflected the Governor’s confidence in Uwanna’s competence and integrity, noting that the trust had been further justified by his elevation to the rank of SAN.

Ekeke disclosed that Uwanna’s appointment marked the first time an indigene of Isuikwuato would serve as Attorney General of Abia State, describing the development as a historic and proud moment for the people of the area. He also noted that the large turnout at the reception demonstrated the unity among Isuikwuato indigenes and their support for the Otti administration.

Members of the Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria, in their goodwill messages, congratulated Uwanna on his elevation, describing the achievement as well deserved and assuring him of their continued support.

Similarly, members of the 2001 Law graduating class, represented by the Director General of the Abia State Strategic Communication Bureau, Onyebuchi Ememanka, reflected on their years in law school and recalled Uwanna’s dedication and academic excellence.

According to Ememanka, Uwanna had always distinguished himself among his peers. “If anyone from our class was going to become a SAN, we knew it would be Ikechukwu Uwanna,” he said, adding that producing two SANs within a short period was a remarkable achievement for the class.

Also speaking, the member representing Isuikwuato State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Lucky Johnson, expressed satisfaction with Uwanna’s appointment and assured that the people of Isuikwuato would support Governor Otti in the 2027 election.

In the same vein, the member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Amobi Ogah, and former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Uche Ogah, pledged their support for Governor Otti’s re-election, assuring that Isuikwuato would deliver overwhelming votes in his favour.

In his remarks, the celebrant, Uwanna, thanked God for the progress recorded in the education sector in Abia State, noting that his elevation to the rank of SAN would not have been possible without access to quality education.

He highlighted key achievements of the Otti administration in the education sector, including the retrofitting of schools, introduction of free education, recruitment of over 5,000 teachers and the renovation of hostel facilities at Abia State University Uturu. He also commended the Governor for upgrading schools across Isuikwuato Local Government Area.

Earlier in his address, Governor Otti described Uwanna as a valuable asset to the state and congratulated him on attaining the prestigious SAN rank.

The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Abia State, while criticizing the spread of misinformation by opposition groups. He stressed that his government would remain focused on development and would respond to critics through tangible achievements rather than propaganda.

In his vote of thanks, Chairman of the Planning Committee and Labour Party leader in Isuikwuato, Ken Ahia, thanked the Governor for appointing an indigene of the area to such an important position in the state government.
