Abia State Announces November Monthly Sanitation for November 29
The general public is hereby informed that the Monthly Sanitation Exercise for the month of November will hold on Saturday, November 29, 2025, in Abia State, between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00am.
According to a release signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Philemon Asonye Ogbonna, there shall be restriction of movement for persons and vehicles within the sanitation period. Only those on essential duties will be exempted, provided they present valid identification or any authorized proof of exemption when required.
The Ministry has directed Executive Chairmen (Mayors) of Local Government Councils, Traditional Rulers, Town Union Leaders, Religious Leaders, as well as Youth and Women Organizations across the State to mobilize, sensitize, and ensure full participation of their communities in the exercise.
In addition, all markets, motor parks, private and public transport companies, and business premises are to remain closed on Friday, November 28, 2025, between 7:00am and 9:00am to enable them carry out their own clean-up exercise.
The Nigeria Police, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) are to assemble at their usual points for deployment and monitoring.
Residents are further reminded to stay at home, clean their surroundings, and wear nose masks throughout the exercise.
The general public should note that defaulters will be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the Abia State Basic Environmental Law.
