Chima Anyaso Foundation, Ofuji Movement Support Bende Communities with Food, Cash Aid

Residents of Bende Local Government Area in Abia State have continued to receive food items and financial assistance as members of the Ofuji Movement, with the support of the Chima Anyaso Foundation, extend humanitarian outreach across wards in the area during the Lenten season.

The initiative, which has been ongoing for the past three weeks, involves weekly visits by members of the movement to different wards every Sunday. During the visits, food items are distributed to residents while each ward receives financial support of ₦500,000 aimed at assisting community members during the Christian period of Lent.

The outreach reached Igbere Ward A and Igbere Ward B on Sunday, drawing a large turnout of residents who gathered to receive the support. Community members expressed joy and appreciation as the items and funds were shared among beneficiaries.

Although he was unable to attend the event personally, the convener of the initiative expressed gratitude after seeing videos and photographs from the distribution exercise, describing the response from residents as encouraging.
He said the programme was designed to support people in the constituency and reflect the values of sacrifice, compassion and care associated with the Lenten season.

“We thank God for the opportunity to stand with our people at a time that calls for love and sacrifice,” he said, while also commending the Chima Anyaso Foundation for its continued support for humanitarian efforts in the constituency.
The organisers also prayed for continued blessings for the people of Bende Federal Constituency and the state at large.

The outreach programme is expected to continue across other wards in Bende Local Government Area in the coming weeks as part of efforts to provide relief and strengthen community support during the season.
