Otti Meets Ossy Prestige Loyalists, Reaffirms Commitment to Inclusive Governance.
Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has received members of the political structure and support groups loyal to the late former member representing Aba North/South Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Ossy Prestige, with assurances of continued inclusive governance and recognition of their contributions to the growth of the Labour Party in the state.

The meeting, held at the JAAC Building, Ogurube Layout, Umuahia, featured tributes to the late lawmaker and renewed pledges of support for the Otti administration ahead of future elections.
Represented by the Deputy Governor of Abia State, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, Governor Otti commended the loyalists of the late Ossy Prestige for keeping alive the political legacy of the former federal lawmaker and maintaining unity within the political family he built.


The Governor noted that the late Ossy Prestige distinguished himself through selfless service, grassroots leadership, and unwavering dedication to the people of Aba North and South Federal Constituency.
“Being voted for is a call to duty and service, and our brother, the late Honorable Ossy Prestige, was an embodiment of that,” Emetu stated on behalf of the Governor.
Governor Otti further assured the delegation that his administration remainsa2 committed to inclusive governance, equal opportunities, and policies that would encourage investment and development across Abia State without discrimination based on state of origin.

He also acknowledged the role played by the Ossy Prestige political structure in previous election victories recorded in the state, especially in Aba North and South, and urged members to remain united and continue working within the framework of the Labour Party.
The Deputy Governor directed the group to submit a formal memorandum outlining areas where they could contribute to governance, including trade, youth engagement, and security, assuring them that their requests would be considered in subsequent appointments by the administration.


Coordinator of the pro-groups and former Director of Protocol to the late Ossy Prestige, and Deputy Director Of Protocol to the Abia State Governor, Mazi Ikechukwu Kelechi Nwankwo, said the meeting was convened to reconnect members of the political structure who became scattered following the death of the former federal lawmaker.
Nwankwo described the group as tested grassroots mobilizers who had contributed significantly to electoral successes in Abia State since 2015.
“This is a team you do not need money to buy. When you consolidate with them, you will see the work and the action,” he said while presenting the structure to the Deputy Governor.


Also speaking, member representing Aba Central State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Uchenna Akachukwu, described the late Ossy Prestige as a leader who prioritized the welfare of his constituents and mentored many young political leaders currently serving in public offices.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Policy and Intervention, Rev. Fr. Christian Anokwuru, commended the group for remaining united years after the death of their leader and challenged them to replicate the same commitment that earned the late lawmaker repeated electoral victories.

Former Abia State Chairman of the Labour Party, Mazi Emmanuel Otti, also praised the late Ossy Prestige for defending the interests of Aba traders and artisans, recalling how he facilitated the release of seized goods without demanding financial gratification.


In a vote of thanks, Hon. George Ezikpe, Director General of the Ossy Prestige Campaign Council, reiterated the group’s commitment to the administration, stressing that the Council remains dedicated to supporting the government and mobilizing its networks across Abia State..

The event ended with prayers for the peaceful repose of the late Ossy Prestige and renewed pledges by members of the political structure to continue supporting Governor Otti’s administration and sustaining the ideals of their late leader.
The gathering also attracted the presence of the Deputy Mayor of Aba North Local Government Area, Hon. Christian Chijioke, and many other dignitaries.
