INSTITUTE OF CHATTERED ACCOUNTANTS OF NIGERIA UMUAHIA DISTRICT GETS NEW CHAIRMAN

Alex Otti have congratulated the newly inaugurated Chairman of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria Umuahia district Society Mr Ude Obasi Ogbu and his Executives .

Speaking during the Inauguration of the new Executives which took place recently at their Headquarter office at Nsurimo road Ubakala , the governor told the Executives to take their new positions serious and use it to uplift the standard of the Institute in Umuahia. The governor who was represented by the Executive Secretary Emergency Management Agency Dr.Sunny Jackson requested the Executives not to take their new office for granted but be serious about it . According to him God has ordained the various positions for them .

He declared the preparedness of the state government to partner and support the programs of ICAN in the state .

Inaugurating the new leaders of ICAN Umuahia district Society , the Accountant General of the state and a member of the Institute , Deaconess Njum Nnennaya Uma Onyemenam charged the new ICAN Executives especially the new Chairman Mr Ude Obasi Ogbu to bring their wealth of experience , expertise and passion to bear as they assume their noble offices The Accountant General who is a member of the Council of ICAN reminded them that their leadership will shape the future of the Institute in Umuahia saying she has no doubt that they will Excell all they need do is to work hard and endeavour to Carry every body along .

She reminded
The New Chairman Mr Ogbu that the Institute is built on the foundation of Trust , excellence , Integrity and accountability .he should keep promoting these Ideals of the Institute for a successful tenure. She was later given an award by the Umuahia district as The Pillar of Support and the title of Ada Eji Aga Mba one of the district.

The Abia state Commissioner for Environment Chief Philemon Asonye Ogbonna who was present at the event congratulated the new Executives saying that one of his dream in life is to be a Chartered Accountant , this he promised to pursue with vigour in order to accomplish the dream . He urged them to be focused and remember the watch words of every Accountant are trustworthy , Accountability and Integrity, these should be their guiding principles in the discharge of their duties.

The immediate past Chairman of the district Mr congratulated the new Chairman urging him to place his trust on God in all that he intends to do . I tell him with God on his side , there is no situation he cannot surmount. He stated

Responding , the new and 12th Chairman of Umuahia district Mr. Ude Obasi Ogbu thanked God for the opportunity to serve and for God hearing his prayers for a clement whether for a hitch Free Inauguration .
He noted that the major focus of his administration would be to train young ones on the need to be a chartered Accountant . He would also initiate training programs for existing Accountants. According to him , to be a Chartered Accountant is a noble calling with several benefits attached no wonder the Abia state governor Dr Alex Otti have many Chartered Accountants in his Cabinet . He thanked all who came to felicitate with him calling for their unalloyed support.
