Nigeria Police assures physically challenged community of support

The Abia Police Command has assured the physically challenged community that the force will continue to identify with them to enable them to realise their full potential in life.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, spoke through the Command Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Maureen Chioma Chinaka at the South East Deaf Women Conference and August Annual Meeting with the theme “Breaking Barriers and Building Rights: Deaf Women Champion Inclusive Development.”

The event had in attendance representatives from NAPTIP, government officials, Poverty Alleviation Scheme Agency, and invited participants from across the South East, featured participation from all deaf women wings across the five South Eastern states, who showcased their rich cultural heritage through unique dance performances and a coordinated march-past.

Delivering the goodwill message, CP Danladi Isa assured participants of the Command’s unwavering commitment to their safety and inclusion and emphasized that “disability is of the mind.”

He encouraged the women not to let physical challenges limit their potential and reiterated that the Abia State Police Command, through its dedicated desk for persons with disabilities, remains open and accessible to them at all times.
