Police retirees reassured of IGP’S commitment to improved welfare

Abia state Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, has met with representatives of retired police officers of various ranks in the Command.

During the meeting, which had in attendance management staff in the Command provided an opportunity for the CP to address some key issues raised by the delegation regarding their welfare.

CP Isa re-emphasised that IGP’s efforts and commitment to enhance their welfare are in progress and encouraged the retirees to refrain from spreading unverified or negative statements that could undermine the collective efforts of the Police Force.


During the interactive session, pressing concerns raised by the retirees were thoroughly discussed, among them being an appeal to IGP to facilitate their exit from PENCOM. The Command’s O/C Pension, ASP Chizoma Opara, provided clarity and guidance on pension-related matters.

Furthermore, the CP emphasized that Abia state has continued to enjoy relative peace as a result of the support of the Abia state government and collaboration with sister security agencies, stakeholders, and civil societies in the state.

On this note, he encouraged the retirees as senior citizens to continue to partner with the Police, in the strides against crime and criminality in the state.
