Abia State Police Command seeks stronger partnership with LGs bosses

Towards strengthening partnership for grassroots security coordination, Abia State Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa, has met with the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Uzor Nwachukwu and Mayors of the 17 local governments in the state.
During the meeting, CP Danladi Isa expressed appreciation to the Mayors and acknowledged the support the Command has been receiving from the governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti in fighting crime and criminality in the state.
He reaffirmed the Command’s support for the Mayors in their respective domains but emphasized that security remains a collective responsibility that requires collaboration and cooperation.
CP Isa reminded the Mayors that as the Chief Security Officers of their localities, there need for close collaboration with the Police through their respective Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and Area Commanders.
He urged them to provide timely and credible information, avoid shielding criminal suspects, but work closely with youth leaders and landlords to ensure proper screening of prospective tenants before renting out properties.
He reiterated the Command’s commitment to professionalism, integrity, and justice, stressing that acts of misconduct and unprofessionalism by officers will not be tolerated.
CP Isa encouraged the mayors to trust and have confidence in the Police in order to work together to make Abia State a safe haven for all.
