DISABLES IN THE STATE DECLARE SUPPORT FOR GOV. OTTI COME 2027

Following the distribution of 85 wheelchairs to persons with Spinal Cord injuries in the state, the Chairman Abia state Disability Commission Mr David Anyaele have commended the state governor Alex Otti for providing the wheelchairs which were distributed on friday the 16th day of January 2026 at Okpara auditorium Umuahia .

Speaking further at the event , Mr Anyaele said the governor placed high premium on the welfare of the Disabled in the state , stating that this is not the first time governor Otti is providing wheelchairs for the Disabled in the state . He maintained that the governor gave specific instructions to MDAs concerning the welfare of the Disabled to ensure the physically Challenged in the state live a comfortable life and contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities .

He urged them not to mismanage the Assistive Wheelchairs saying if well handled , the wheelchairs could last up to 5 years . He disclosed that the state government made provisions for the Disabled. to board the newly introduced Electric Buses.

He further had it that the Abia State Disability law would be fully implemented soon stating the preparedness of the State government and the Commission to fully protect the Rights and dignity of the Disabled in the state.

Mr Anyaele told them that the governor promised to make provision for them for their easy movement in all high rise buildings and infrastructure his administration will build . This he said is for their comfort and total inclusion in the society . The Chairman of the disability Commission , therefore urged the members of the Association to get their PVCs ready to enable them vote gov.Otti back to office come 2027 .

Earlier In his speech, the state chairman of Association of persons with Spinal Cord Injuries Mr David Onuoha thanked the state government and The Abia State Disability Commission Chaired by Mr. David Anyaele for the provision of the Wheelchairs and priotizing the welfare of the Disabled in
the state .

Mr Onuoha described government’ of the day in Abia as wonderful saying the physically Challenged have never had it so good . He called on all physically Challenged persons in the state to get ready to vote governor Otti in 2027 for continuity .

The high light of the event is the distribution of wheelchairs to some disabled persons .
