Labour Party Convention Signals Strategic Repositioning for 2027 — Anyaso

A chieftain of the Labour Party Nigeria, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, has expressed confidence that the party’s recently concluded National Convention will serve as a turning point in its preparation for the 2027 general elections.

Dr. Anyaso, popularly known as Ofuji Bende, made this assertion while addressing journalists at the International Conference Centre Umuahia, venue of the convention.

He noted that the gathering provided a vital opportunity for strengthening internal structures, redefining leadership direction, and enhancing grassroots mobilization nationwide.

According to him, the convention goes beyond routine political activity, describing it as a decisive moment for the party to rebuild trust, deepen internal democracy, and position itself as a credible platform for national transformation.

He stressed that the Labour Party must emerge from the exercise more united, disciplined, and strategically focused on delivering leadership that meets the expectations of Nigerians.

Dr. Anyaso further called on party leaders, stakeholders, and members to set aside individual ambitions in favor of collective progress, emphasizing that unity remains the cornerstone of electoral success.

Highlighting the growing confidence Nigerians place in the party, he urged delegates to uphold the principles of competence, inclusiveness, and transparency in their decision-making processes.

“The strength of any political party lies in its unity. With a shared vision and commitment to democratic ideals, the Labour Party is well-positioned not only to expand its base but also to secure significant victories in 2027,” he said.

Reaffirming his dedication to the party’s ideals, Dr. Anyaso also encouraged increased participation from youths, women, and grassroots supporters, noting that their active involvement will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the party.
