PDP House of Assembly Candidate Unveils 12-Point Agenda for Isuikwuato

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Abia State House of Assembly election in Isuikwuato State Constituency, Mayor Kingsley Okoronkwo (MKO), Ph.D., has unveiled a 12-point development agenda aimed at transforming the constituency ahead of the 2027 general election.

Okoronkwo unveiled the blueprint shortly after receiving his Certificate of Return as the PDP candidate, describing his emergence as a mandate dedicated to God and the people of Isuikwuato Local Government Area.

Speaking in a statement issued on Monday, the PDP flag bearer expressed gratitude to party delegates, faithful, community leaders and residents of Isuikwuato for their support and confidence in his candidacy.

He pledged to provide purposeful, accountable and people-oriented representation if elected into the Abia State House of Assembly.
According to him, the agenda is anchored on the theme, “Purposeful Representation, Inclusive Development and Renewed Hope for Ndi Isuikwuato,” and focuses on critical sectors including education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, security, youth empowerment and economic development.

The PDP candidate promised to prioritise quality education through the renovation of schools, provision of learning facilities, scholarships for indigent students and the establishment of skills acquisition centres across the constituency.

He also pledged to strengthen primary healthcare services by upgrading health centres, facilitating medical outreach programmes and advocating increased deployment of healthcare personnel to rural communities.

On infrastructure, Okoronkwo said he would push for the rehabilitation of key roads within the constituency, address erosion challenges and advocate the installation of streetlights in major communities.

He further outlined plans to promote agriculture through support for farmers’ cooperatives, access to agricultural loans, provision of improved seedlings and annual farmers’ development programmes.

The House of Assembly candidate also promised support for community-based security initiatives, job creation programmes, small and medium-scale enterprises, rural electrification and access to clean water.

As part of efforts to promote inclusiveness, he pledged legislative support for women and youth empowerment, protection of the girl-child, sports development and cultural promotion.

Okoronkwo further assured constituents of transparency and accountability through regular constituency briefings, town hall meetings and effective oversight of government projects.

The PDP candidate also promised to advocate improved welfare for pensioners, vulnerable persons and people living with disabilities, while establishing a constituency office to ensure continuous engagement with residents.

Meanwhile, Okoronkwo congratulated the PDP governorship candidate for the 2027 election, Barr. Kelechi Anosike, Ph.D., on his emergence, describing him as a capable leader with the vision and competence required to move Abia State forward.

He also commended the Abia State Chairman of the PDP, Abraham Amah, for his leadership and contribution to the party’s growth, expressing appreciation for his support and commitment to empowering younger politicians.

Okoronkwo called on residents of Isuikwuato and supporters of the PDP to remain united and work towards securing victory for the party in the 2027 general election.

He expressed confidence that with the support of the people, the constituency would witness accelerated development and effective representation in the years ahead.
