“It Is Time”: Anyaso Seeks to Deepen Service to Bende Through Legislative Representation.

Businessman, philanthropist and community development advocate, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, popularly known as Ofuji, has formally declared his intention to contest for the Bende Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives under the platform of the Labour Party in the 2027 general elections.

Announcing his ambition in a statement titled “It Is Time,” Anyaso said his decision was driven by a desire to deepen his longstanding commitment to the welfare and development of the people of Bende through legislative service and effective representation.

According to him, his aspiration is not motivated by the quest for political power but by the need to expand the scope of service he has rendered to the constituency over the years through philanthropy, education, healthcare interventions, youth empowerment and community development initiatives.

“For over two decades, I have invested my life, resources and energy in the service of our people, not because I held any political office, but because I believe that leadership is first about service,” he stated.

The Labour Party stalwart noted that through the Ahuoma Anyaso Educational Foundation, he has provided educational support to numerous beneficiaries, while also facilitating healthcare programmes, economic empowerment schemes and humanitarian assistance for vulnerable members of society.

Anyaso pledged to serve as a strong voice for the people of Bende in the National Assembly, attract opportunities to the constituency and champion policies and projects capable of accelerating development across communities in the federal constituency.

He stressed that public representation should be anchored on character, competence, compassion and a proven record of service, adding that the future of Bende depends on visionary and purposeful leadership.

“The journey ahead is not about one man; it is about a collective dream for a better Bende. Together, we can build a future where our youths have opportunities, our communities have infrastructure, our women are empowered and our people are proud of their representation,” he said.

Anyaso expressed confidence that with the support of the people and the grace of God, Bende would witness a new era of quality representation focused on results, accountability and sustainable development.

His declaration comes on the heels of his participation in global conversations on leadership and governance, including his recent engagement as a panelist at the 10th Anniversary Conference of the Ife Institute of Advanced Studies at Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts, where discussions centred on leadership, governance and institutional trust.

Political observers believe his official entry into the race is expected to add momentum to the contest for the Bende Federal Constituency seat as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections begin to gather pace.
