Abía state government say she is satisfied with the out come of the 3rd year anniversary celebration which took place recently in the state.
According to the commissioner the event afforded government the opportunity to carry out a
total review of achievements so far recorded in the last three years .

The state’s information Commissioner Prince Okey Kanu declared this on Monday 1st of June 2026 at government’ house Umuahia while briefing Newsmen on the out come of the week’s Executive Council meeting chaired by the state governor Dr Alex Otti.

The Commissioner said the celebration made it possible for government to grasp the indepth of her performance in three years , in various sectors and government discovered she has excelled in several sectors including Health , Education Infrastructure. Agric, human development such as the recent launching of NKATA Development Programme where youths from the 17 LGAs would be empowered . He stated that youths from 7 LGAs have been empowered with 306 million Naira while the other 10 LGAs would get theirs in no distant time.
According to him ,the uphoria made the state governor to declare that more projects would be Commissioned or flagged off soon in the state.

Prince Okey Kanu said the Nnenna Óttï Bus Terminal in Umuahia and the Abia Green Shuttle Electric Buses have commenced full operation to help the people and to modernize Abia transportation system to international
Standard . He informed that Computerized Vehicle Testing Centres have been established in Umuahia and Abia and they are fully operational. He again stated that Aba Bus Terminal would soon be ready.

The Information boss again said that work have commenced on Ojukwu Bunker and War Museum in Umuahia and this being done in conjuction with the National War Museum Commission . While plans are aloof to commence the retrofitting of Ibom water Falls in Arochukwu . All these are meant to strengthen the tourism industry and boost revenue generation of the state .

The Executive Council prince Kanu said have decided to inconjuction with the office of the governor’s wife and ministry of Women Affairs reenact the historic Aba Women Riot to honour the women participants of that heroic act of 1929 .The show would feature musical Artists from a cross the nation.
