Abam PGs Reject Alleged Attempt by Presco Plc to Acquire Community Land.

The Forum of President Generals (PGs) of Abam Onyerubi has raised the alarm over what it described as an alleged attempt by Presco Plc to forcefully enter and take over land belonging to the Abam community.

In a statement signed by the Forum of Abam President Generals, the traditional community leaders expressed strong opposition to any move by the company to acquire or take possession of Abam land, stating categorically that the community had no land available for acquisition by Presco Plc “under any form or guise.

The Forum said it remained committed to maintaining peace and harmony within Abam, while urging individuals or groups allegedly sponsoring land grabbers to desist from what it described as “nefarious activities.”

The President Generals also called on Presco Plc to stay off Abam land, stressing that the community would continue to protect its interests through peaceful and lawful means.

The statement further indicated that the Forum would not accept actions capable of undermining the peace, unity and territorial interests of the Abam community.

The Forum reiterated its commitment to pursuing peace and harmony while addressing the land dispute, and appealed to all parties to avoid actions that could escalate tensions in the community.
