Anyaso Urges Abia Residents to Prioritise Voter Registration Over Social Media Support.

Prominent businessman and philanthropist, Dr. Chima Desmond Anyaso, has called on residents of Abia State to move beyond social media commendations and take concrete political action by registering to vote if they wish to sustain the achievements of the current administration.

In a public message issued in February, the Chairman of CAADES Group and founder of the Chima Anyaso Foundation commended Governor Alex Otti for what he described as “exemplary works,” but warned that praise alone would not secure political continuity.

According to Anyaso, genuine support for good governance must be demonstrated through active civic participation, particularly voter registration.
“Such gatherings and big statements alone do not win elections; it is indeed the PVCs that do,” he said. “Faith without works is dead.”

The political figure made the remarks while reflecting on his recent participation in the Ukwa La Ngwa bloc’s reception and endorsement of Governor Otti for a second term, noting that endorsements and public declarations are largely symbolic if not backed by votes at the polls.

He described his message as a clarion call to the electorate, stressing that the Permanent Voter Card (PVC) remains the only legitimate tool for expressing the people’s political will. He therefore urged eligible citizens who are yet to register to take advantage of the ongoing continuous voter registration exercise.

Ofuji Movement Mobilisation
Anyaso, a key player in Abia’s political landscape, leads the Ofuji Movement, one of the state’s most expansive grassroots political structures, with 18-man ward executives in every ward across Abia State.
By mobilising members who are duly registered and PVC-holding voters, he said the movement is positioning itself as a major support base for the governor’s development agenda, driven by the slogan: “We shall never go back… every step we take is Forward Ever.”

Beyond politics, Anyaso’s address also carried a message of unity and goodwill, describing February as a period for sharing love and joy. He encouraged Abians to remain productive and impactful in their daily activities while remaining conscious of their civic duties.

“Life appears seamless as we engage in our daily pursuits,” he said. “Let us continue to share love and joy together.”
