“Our Team 1999–2023” Woos Abia APC, Backs Party Ahead of 2027 Polls,
A group known as Our Team 1999–2023, led by Emeka Stanley, on Tuesday visited the Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), where it congratulated the newly elected members of the State Working Committee.

The delegation was received at the party’s state secretariat, marking what the group described as a formal step toward collaboration ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Introducing the delegation, the group’s spokesman, Don Ubani, said the visit was both symbolic and strategic.
According to him, the group comprises key political actors who served in Abia State between 1999 and 2023, cutting across party lines. He noted that its membership includes former governors such as Orji Uzor Kalu, Theodore Orji, and Okezie Ikpeazu, as well as past appointees and elected officials.
“We are here on a courtesy visit and to formally notify the party of our readiness to work with the APC in preparation for the 2027 elections,” Ubani stated.

Speaking on behalf of the group, ACB Agbazuere pledged total support for the APC, assuring that members would deploy their collective experience and resources to secure electoral victories at all levels. He also called for the group’s full integration into party structures.

Responding, the Abia APC State Chairman, Chijioke Chukwu, described the delegation as the party’s “institutional memory,” noting that their wealth of experience would be instrumental in strengthening the party’s prospects.
Chukwu assured the group that it would be accommodated within key party structures, beginning with the Congress Committee. He further stressed that the party would uphold internal democracy, warning against the imposition of candidates.
He reiterated the APC’s determination to reclaim the governorship seat, emphasizing that the party remains focused on returning power to Umuahia in the next electoral cycle.
