Speaking at a colourful pulling-out ceremony held in honour of the senior immigration officer, the mayor praised Anugwa’s 35 years of meritorious service to the nation, noting that his contributions significantly impacted institutional development within the Nigeria Immigration Service.

Enwereuzo described the retiree as a man of wisdom and integrity, highlighting his forward-thinking initiatives, particularly the introduction of electronic payment systems and the computerisation of salary processes. According to the mayor, such reforms marked a turning point and set standards worthy of emulation in public administration.
