2027: Anyaso Signs Bende Prosperity Contract, Vows Two-Term Tenure
The Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election, Dr Chima Desmond Anyaso, has signed a “Bende Prosperity Contract,” pledging to serve the people with transparency, accountability and measurable results if elected.

Anyaso signed the document during its public presentation in Bende, Abia State, in the presence of traditional rulers, President Generals, community leaders, political stakeholders, religious leaders, youths and other representatives from across the constituency.
Tagged “Walk With Me,” the Prosperity Contract outlines his proposed priorities in agriculture, youth development, education, healthcare, infrastructure, enterprise development, women empowerment, sports and talent development, security and environmental sustainability.

Presenting the document, Anyaso described it as a covenant between him and the people of Bende rather than a conventional political manifesto, saying it was designed to enable constituents scrutinise his commitments and hold him accountable if elected.
He urged the electorate to demand transparency and results from political office holders, stressing that representation should be based on service rather than empty promises.

According to him, his proposed role in the National Assembly would include attracting quality federal interventions to Bende, particularly in roads, healthcare, education and youth development.
He also cautioned against political office holders taking personal credit for projects executed with public funds, insisting that such projects belong to the people and should not be presented as personal favours.
A major highlight of the event was Anyaso’s pledge to serve for only two terms if elected, in accordance with what he described as the political understanding between the Umunna and Ikwuisii blocs.
He said he would not seek a third term, promising instead to support an Ikwuisii candidate at the appropriate time.
Anyaso said leadership should be about creating opportunities for younger generations and producing successors rather than allowing individuals to remain in political office indefinitely.
He also urged his supporters not to be intimidated ahead of the 2027 election, declaring confidence in victory while calling on them to remain peaceful.
Anyaso urged the people of Bende to read, question and keep the document as a reference point, promising to remain accountable to the commitments contained in it if given their mandate in 2027.
The Labour Party candidate warned youths against allowing themselves to be used for electoral violence, stressing that no political ambition was worth the life or future of any young person.
He assured supporters that the Labour Party would remain committed to protecting their democratic rights and ensuring that their votes count.
Speaking during the event, the District Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Umuahia North Jerusalem, Rev. James Ndukwe, emphasised the importance of humility in leadership.
Ndukwe, who spoke on the theme, “Blessed Is the Nation Whose God Is the Lord,” drawn from Psalm 33:12–16, said humility was an important quality of effective leadership.
He commended Anyaso for what he described as his humility, particularly his decision to kneel for prayers during the occasion.
Earlier, the Director-General of the Chima Anyaso Campaign Organisation, Pastor Okechukwu Dike, said the gathering was organised to publicly present and sign the Prosperity Contract before traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders in Bende.
Also speaking, the Mayor of Bende Local Government Area, Hon. DCN Uwabunkonye Bassey, described the document as evidence of Anyaso’s preparedness to represent the constituency.
Bassey pledged to return to his community to promote Anyaso’s candidacy and declared opposition to electoral malpractice, expressing confidence in the Labour Party candidate’s prospects in 2027.
The Abia State Chairman of the Labour Party, Hon. Peter Azubuike, expressed confidence in the party’s chances of winning the Bende Federal Constituency election, citing the content of the Prosperity Contract and the support generated by Anyaso’s campaign.
He assured the Bende Labour Party structure of the state leadership’s support towards the 2027 election.
Similarly, a Labour Party chieftain and founder of ECK Foundation, Chief Emeka Kalu, described Anyaso as a young man with the capacity and commitment to represent Bende, urging voters to protect their democratic mandate.
Representing President Generals in Umunna, the President General of Item, Prince Okenwa Ichie, described the public signing of the Prosperity Contract as unprecedented in Bende.
He expressed confidence in the support of the Umunna bloc for Anyaso ahead of the 2027 election
In his remarks, the Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Chioma Otti, represented by Prof. Ijeoma Iheukwumere, assured Anyaso of the support of the Labour Party towards his electoral bid.
The event attracted President Generals from communities across Bende, traditional rulers, political leaders, religious leaders, youths and other stakeholders.
