Alex Otti Pays Final Respects to Mrs. Edna Chinyere Egele at Funeral in Isuikwuato, Abia State

The remains of late Mrs. Edna Chinyere Egele have been laid to rest in her husband’s country home at Otampa, Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State.

Speaking during the funeral service held in her honour by the Faith Tabernacle Congregation, Governor Alex Otti described the deceased as a devoted mother, wife, and sister who fulfilled her purpose on earth.

The Governor represented by his deputy, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, noted that death is an inevitable passage whose timing is determined by God alone. He stated that the Abia State Government shares in the grief of the Egele family.

“The government of Abia State finds it difficult to come to terms with moments like this. If it were possible to change such circumstances, we would have done so. But God, in His infinite mercy, knows best,” he said.

Governor Otti urged the family to take solace in the belief that their mother is in a better place and encouraged them to remain steadfast in the face of their painful loss.

“God brought her to earth as your mother; she played her role faithfully. Now He has called her home,” he added, praying that God grants the family the strength to bear the irreplaceable loss.

In his sermon titled, “What Shall You Be Remembered For?”, the Assistant Presiding Elder, Pastor Johnson Ijoma Okoro, challenged the congregation to reflect on their purpose in life and their service to God and humanity.

“What are you sent to do on this earth? What work are you doing for God? As God has gone to prepare a place for His people, we must be ready and prepared for the coming of our Lord and Saviour,” he admonished.

In a tribute delivered on behalf of the family, one of the deceased’s daughters, Miss Ngozi Egele, expressed appreciation to the state government, the church, and sympathizers for their prayers, support, and solidarity during their time of grief.
