Entrepreneur and philanthropist, Chief David Ogba Onuoha, has described the late Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai as a transformational figure whose impact will continue to resonate across generations, urging Nigerians to uphold the values he lived for.

Speaking to newsmen immensely after the funeral service held in honour of Rev Dr Uma Ukpai at Coronation Secondary School, Asaga Ohafia, in Ohafia Local Government Area, Onuoha said the event marked both an end and a beginning.

“Today is not just a moment of prayer; it is the closing of a chapter written in reverence and the opening of another defined by legacy,” he said.

He noted that the gathering was not merely to mourn but to honour a life distinguished by faith, service, and enduring impact.

According to him, the late cleric was more than a preacher, describing him as “a vessel of transformation and a voice that shaped lives across generations.”

“There is sadness, but it is a dignified sadness wrapped in gratitude. His greatest legacy lies not only in the sermons he preached but in the lives he awakened,” Onuoha stated.
He added that Rev. Ukpai built more than a ministry. “

He built men, women, and conviction, standing as a moral compass in a world often marked by uncertainty,” he said

Reflecting on the cleric’s life, Onuoha emphasized discipline, clarity of purpose, and consistency as key attributes that defined his leadership.

“He understood his calling and remained steadfast with uncommon consistency. That level of focus is rare and powerful,” he said.

Addressing the family, he remarked that their loss is shared globally. “You did not lose him; you lent him to the world, and the world is better for it,” he added.

Onuoha also charged followers of the late cleric to honour his memory through action rather than grief.

“The greatest way to honour him is not in tears but in continuity. Live the values he embodied and carry forward the light he ignited,” he said.
He further noted that the passing of Rev. Ukpai serves as a reminder that true legacy lies in impact.

“Titles fade and positions expire, but purpose fulfilled becomes eternal. Nigeria and the world need more individuals anchored in truth, guided by conviction, and committed to uplifting others,” he said.

Onuoha concluded that the late cleric lives on through the lives he touched and the values he imparted, describing such enduring influence as a form of immortality.
