Fisher Educational Development Trust Board Directs Centralized Fee Payments as Stakeholders Review Ongoing Projects at Government College Umuahia

The Fisher Educational Development Trust Board of Government College Umuahia has directed the School Management Council and principal to ensure that all fees accrued for the college are paid into the College account at Signature Bank.

This was part of the decision reached at the FEDT SMC meeting with the principal of the College on Thursday, 30th April 2026 at the College, during which the duo inspected the ongoing rehabilitation of the Assembly hall, Fisher House and fencing project at the College.

Speaking at the meeting the Vice Chairman, FEDT Mr Kingsley Agomoh who presided over the meeting, formally introduced the School Management Council to the Principal and PTA, charged them to work harmoniously to ensure that the vision of the founding fathers and GCUOBA are actualized, with the College maintaining an enviable academic height in the Southeast and the nation in general.

Also a member of the FEDT Board Mazi Ugochukwu Okoroafor urged the SMC and Principal of the College to ensure that the college remains the best as it has always been, assuring that the state Government will continue to give the College necessary support for the smooth running of the College.

In their various speeches a member of the FEDT Board Justice Obisike Orji Rtd, Dr Okey Madukwe emphasised the need for cooperation among the Principal and SMC

In his speech, the Secretary of the School Management Council Dr Obi Okoye assured the FEDT of their desire to do what is expected of them in moving the college forward.

Speaking the College principal appreciated the FEDT board for the golden opportunity, explaining that his priority has always been to take Government College Umuahia to a greater height, to justify the huge investment of the Government College Old Boys Association.

He pledged to work with the School Management Council.
