Abia Government Rolls Out Training Programme for Newly Recruited Teachers

The Abia State Government has announced a comprehensive six-day capacity-building training programme for newly employed teachers in public schools across the state.

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Elder Goodluck Chinedu Ubochi, the training will be conducted in two phases.

The first phase, scheduled from August 25 to 30, 2025, is tailored for teachers assigned to primary schools under the Abia State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB). The second phase will run from September 1 to 6, 2025, targeting teachers under the Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary categories managed by ASUBEB and the Secondary Education Management Board (SEMB), respectively.

The sessions will take place concurrently at two centres: Abayi Girls Secondary School in Umuocham, Aba, and the Federal Government Girls Secondary School in Umuahia.

Participants are required to log on to the official training portal to select their preferred training centre and download their admit cards ahead of the programme.
