Otti’s Beautification Agenda Gains Momentum as UCDA Clears Cooperative, Uzuakoli and Uwalaka Corridors.

The State Government has been commended for the ongoing removal of attachments and shanties along Cooperative, Uzuakoli Road, and Uwalaka to Umuagu Ibeku, aimed at enhancing the aesthetics of the State Capital

The residents, including Mr John ike, Okechukwu Madu and Mrs Stella Nwachukwu,who made the commendation. While speaking to the newsmen at the ongoing exercise, they noted that the exercise has improved the outlook of the affected areas.

They appreciated Governor Dr Alex Otti for his administration’s steadfastness in the overall development of the state, as evidence to his developmental strides across the state, especially in Umuahia, the State Capital.

They explained that some of them, who are landlords and shop owners, have already removed their attachments and shanties, in compliance with Government directives, during an engagement meeting convened by the Umuahia Capital Development Authority (UCDA).

According to them, there is a need for all Abians, landlords and the business community in the state, particularly in Umuahia, the State Capital, to support the present administration’s genuine commitments towards the development of the state.

Reacting to the development, the General Manager, Umuahia Capital Development Authority (UCDA), Mr Kingsley Agomoh, explained that the present administration is resolute in enhancing the aesthetics of the State Capital.

Mr Agomoh revealed that the sanitisation exercise will be extended to other major streets of umuahia, adding that the move is to give Umuahia, the State Capital, the deserved outlook.

The UCDA General Manager advised Abians and residents of Umuahia to stop erecting shanties, projections, and attachments that undermine the aesthetics of the State Capital.

It would be recalled that Umuahia Capital Development Authority (UCDA) had earlier in the year held a series of engagement meetings with the property owners, where it was agreed that the illegal shanties and attachments would be removed, inline with urban renewal agenda of the Dr Alex Otti led administration, while the agreed dates had expired months ago
