2027: No Rigging in Abia, Every Vote Will Count, Says LP’s Anyaso.
The Labour Party (LP) candidate for Bende Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, has declared that there will be no electoral malpractice in Abia State, assuring residents that every lawful vote cast during the election will count.
Anyaso made the declaration during a prayer gathering attended by ministers of the Gospel, traditional rulers, party supporters and other stakeholders in Bende Local Government Area, where he expressed confidence that the 2027 general election would be free, fair and credible.
The LP candidate said the era of manipulating election results was over, stressing that the party was committed to protecting every valid vote cast by the electorate. He assured supporters that his campaign would continue to focus on grassroots engagement, presenting his programmes and seeking the people’s mandate through lawful and democratic means.
He urged party faithful and supporters to remain steadfast and actively participate in the electoral process, maintaining that the Labour Party was fully prepared to defend the people’s mandate and ensure that the wishes of voters prevailed at the polls.
Anyaso also reiterated his commitment to fairness, equity and justice, describing the principles as the foundation of sustainable leadership.
He called for the continued respect of the zoning arrangement for the Bende Federal Constituency seat, noting that the rotational agreement endorsed by stakeholders and traditional rulers was necessary to promote equity, inclusiveness and peaceful coexistence within the constituency.
According to him, adherence to the existing power-sharing arrangement would strengthen unity and foster political stability across the two blocs in Bende Federal Constituency.
The Labour Party flag bearer further aligned himself with Governor Alex Otti’s position that anyone planning to manipulate the outcome of the 2027 elections in Abia State should abandon such intentions, expressing optimism that the state would conduct a peaceful, transparent and credible election.
He also called on the people of Bende to remain united in their support for Governor Otti, whom he credited with transforming governance in Abia State, expressing confidence that the area would deliver overwhelming votes for the governor and other Labour Party candidates in the 2027 general election.
