2027: Bende Clergy Offer Prayers for Labour Party Reps Candidate, Chima Anyaso
Ministers of the Gospel drawn from different churches across Bende Local Government Area of Abia State have offered special prayers for the Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, Dr. Chima Anyaso, committing his political aspiration to God and praying for his victory at the polls.

The prayer session, held at Dr. Anyaso’s country home in Igbere on Thursday, brought together clergymen who said the Church must play a more active role in promoting God-fearing and visionary leadership.
Speaking on behalf of the ministers, the Assemblies of God Church Pastor in Bende, Rev. Henry Kay, said the gathering was inspired by a conviction that the Church should not remain passive in matters of leadership and governance.

According to him, the ministers assembled to intercede for Dr. Anyaso, expressing confidence that God would grant him success.
“It is time for the Church to gather and build with bricks, no longer stones. We have come to pray and cry unto God on his behalf. There is no way the Church will continually pray for a man and God will not cause him to excel,” Rev. Kay said.

Also addressing the gathering, the Coordinator of the ministers, Rev. Ibe Uduma, said the clerics had resolved to take a more active role in shaping leadership in Bende through sustained prayers and moral support. He assured Dr. Anyaso of their continued spiritual backing throughout his political journey.
In his response, Dr. Anyaso expressed appreciation to the ministers for their unwavering support, noting that they had been praying for him consistently for over a year, even before the Labour Party primary election.

He disclosed that the pastors had encouraged and supported him spiritually long before he emerged as the party’s candidate, describing their visit as a source of strength and inspiration.
Dr. Anyaso pledged that if elected to represent Bende Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, he would justify the confidence reposed in him by the Church and the people.”I will not disappoint the Church. Those who seek to take what belongs to God should know that God will not remain silent,” he stated.
