ABIA APC GRANTS PARDON TO ORJI UZOR KALU AND CHRIS NKWONTA
OVER COMMENTS AGAINST PARTY

The All Progressive Congress APC Abia state Chapter say she has granted unconditional pardon to two of her erring members who made anti Party comments against the party .

The party took this stand during her recent review of post primaries election and Reconciliation Stakeholders Meeting , which took place on Sunday 23rd of August 2026 , at the party’s Secretariat along Finbarrs road Umuahia . The Party made it clear that such indiscipline and disloyalty would never be pardoned in future .

The motion for peace and Reconciliation was moved by the party’s candidate for Aba North And South Federal Constituency Hon . Uzor Azubuike .

Moving the motion , he said unity requires forgiving all members to protect the party’s electoral prospects.
He argued that past grievances must be dropped so both loyal and erring members could work together for the party’s success, come 2027 .

The motion was seconded by Chief Emmanuel Ndubuisi, member representing Bende South state Constituency in the Abia House of Assembly.

Earlier, The State Chairman of APC, Chief Chijioke Chukwu said the party had concluded its primaries, which he Described as the best in Abia’s political history.

Chief Chukwu , urged aggrieved members to forgive one another and channel complaints through party structures instead of going to the press .

“Let’s chart a new course together. We cannot take over this state in disunity,” Chukwu said.

He warned members working for other parties to desist, stressing that such disloyalty would no longer be tolerated.

Chukwu also declared there would be no alliance, and urged members to remain committed to APC’s objectives in Abia.

On Senator Orji Kalu, representing Abia North Senatorial district and Chief Chris Nkwonta, representing Ukwa East/ Ukwa West Federal Constituency, in Abuja Chukwu said the State Working Committee (SWC) chose peace and reconciliation over sanctions after series of meetings.

He noted that the two leaders according to them, were dissatisfied with party processes, so had no intention of destroying the party .

The State Working Committee SWC had on Aug. 10, 2026, issued a 14-day ultimatum over alleged anti-party comments supporting Gov. Alex Otti of Labour party for 2027.

The committee described the statements as embarrassing and inimical to party unity during ongoing mobilisation across 184 wards . The party had set up Peace and Reconciliation Committee headed by Chief Madukwe Ukaegbu as Chairman.

The committee was given 10 days to visit all wards to reconcile aggrieved members and bring peace and unity to the party in Abia state .
