AT DEPUTY SPEAKERS THANKS GIVING SERVICE

Abía State governor Dr Alex Óttï have Directed the immediate rehablitation of the road leading to the house of former Military Head of state late Gen. Aguiyi Ironsi and Ibeama. Community Primary School in Ndume Otuka Community.

The governor gave this order on Saturday the 11th of July 2026 during the thanks giving reception of the Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly RT. Hon Austin Meregini at Ibeama Community Primary School Ndume Otuka in Umuahia North LGA. He said the directive is in response to the request made by Elders of the community.
Governor Óttï commended the Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly Hon. Meregini for organizing a thanks giving service to God saying showing gratitude is one of the best ways to honour God .

Speaking the Deputy Speaker Abia State House of Assembly RT . Hon Austin Okezie Meregini thanked God for making the event possible and expressed his appreciation to governor Alex Óttï and several eminent personalities including the Speaker Abia State House of Assembly RT Hon Emanuel Emeruwa for gracing the occassion saying he is amazed by the show of love.

He also congratulated those who used the occassion to cross over to Labour Party .He said they made wise decision , and their reason for joining the party , he said, is as a result of the transformational governance of governor Alex Chioma Óttï in the state .

In their goodwill messages some of the returnees including Chief Chibuike Onuoha popularly known as Chief Okoo , and Prof. Maduka Enyimba said they are joining Labour party due to the good works the governor is doing in the state and they have come to give him their Support. They assured the governor that they will support him and all other Labour Party candidates come 2027 general election .

The president General of Ndume Otuka autonomous Communities Chief John Onyiro and some major Stakeholders of the community such as Deacon Okechukwu Onyemuwa of Okey Technical Construction company Ltd and Chief Chidozie Ohabughiro of Dozie Way Holdings among others
commended the Governor for the projects he ordered to be done in the community and his people oriented policies and developmental strides across the State, noting that his administration has restored hope and confidence among the people through the delivery of impactful projects and good governance.

The community leaders further pledged their unwavering support and loyalty to Governor Otti, assuring him that they are solidly behind his reelection bid in the 2027 general election.

In a vote of thanks, the Chief Host of the reception and Chairman of Kingsoo Global Maritime Limited, Chief Kingsley Amaechi Offor, appreciated Governor Alex Otti on behalf of Umuahia East State Constituency for his transformational leadership in Abia State. Chief Offor noted that they decided to host their son, Rt. Hon. Nmeregini, because of his impactful representation, and assured that they would ensure that the Governor is reelected come 2027.

The highlight of the occassion was Chief Chidozie Ohabughiro of Dozie Way Holdings using the event to formally launch his political organization The Alex Óttï Ambassadors, to the great people of Ndume ward right before the governor and all present .

The event attracted many dignitaries including the Senatorial Candidate for Abia Central Zone, Senator Darlington Nwokocha, Member representing Isiala-Ngwa North/South Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Ginger Onwusibe, Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Emmanuel Meribeole, among others .
