The Abia State Police Command has assured residents, particularly Christian faithful, of adequate security measures to guarantee a safe and hitch-free Easter celebration across the state.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chinaka, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, extended warm Easter greetings to Christians, urging them to embrace the spirit of the season, which commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ, with joy, peace, and reflection.
According to the Command, a comprehensive operational plan has been activated to ensure maximum security before, during, and after the festivities.
The Police disclosed that personnel have been strategically deployed to key locations across the state, including major roads, worship centres, and other public spaces.
The statement further noted that regular patrols, as well as coordinated covert and overt security operations, are already in place to prevent crime and maintain public order throughout the celebration period.
While reiterating its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, the Command urged residents to remain vigilant and security-conscious at all times. Citizens were encouraged to promptly report any suspicious persons or activities to the Police.
The Police Command emphasized the importance of public cooperation in ensuring a peaceful Easter celebration and wished all residents a joyful, safe, and crime-free holiday.
