ANYASO URGES FATHERS TO PRIORITISE CHARACTER OVER WEALTH

Prominent businessman and philanthropist, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, has called on fathers and men in leadership positions to place greater emphasis on moral character and godly values rather than the pursuit of material wealth, describing character as the most enduring legacy any individual can leave behind.

Dr. Anyaso, founder of the Chima Anyaso Foundation and Chief Executive Officer of CAADES Group, made the call while delivering a Father’s Day message at the 2026 Father’s Day celebration organised by the Men’s Christian Association (MCA) of Living Spring Parish, Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Ehimiri, Umuahia.

The event, held under the theme, “Men of Extravagant Grace” drawn from John 1:16, was presided over by the Prelate of the parish, Rt. Rev. Johnson Kalu.

Dr. Anyaso stressed that while many people focus on acquiring wealth and material possessions for their children, the greatest inheritance remains a life built on integrity, compassion and service to humanity.

According to him, every individual will inevitably leave a legacy behind, but what matters most is the nature of that legacy.

“The question is not whether you will leave a legacy; the question is what kind of legacy you will leave behind,” he said.

He noted that positions, titles and material achievements often fade with time, while the impact made on people’s lives and the values demonstrated during one’s lifetime remain unforgettable.

The philanthropist further advised fathers not to allow political affiliations, social associations or personal interests to compromise their moral convictions, warning that misplaced loyalties could negatively influence their judgment and character.

Drawing from his personal experiences, Dr. Anyaso recounted the challenges and pressures he faced as a young undergraduate, particularly attempts by secret cult groups to recruit him while in the university.

He attributed his decision to resist such influences to the moral foundation and values instilled in him during his formative years, noting that strong character had continued to guide his personal and professional life.

The entrepreneur also reflected on the prevalence of fraudulent activities among some youths during his early career years, stating that adherence to sound values enabled him to pursue legitimate business ventures and achieve success without compromising his integrity.

As part of the celebration, Dr. Anyaso led special prayers for fathers and heads of families, seeking divine grace, strength and prosperity for those facing economic and personal challenges.

He prayed for God’s intervention in the lives of struggling fathers and encouraged them to remain steadfast in faith and responsible leadership within their homes and communities.
