GOV. OTTI COMMISSION’S NEW COURT COMPLEX IN UMUENE ISIALA NGWA SOUTH LGA

Abía State Governor Dr. Alex Otti have on Tuesday the 29th of October 2025 commissioned a newly completed Court complex in Umuene in Isiala Ngwa South LGA .

Speaking at the event , the governor who titled his address The Judiciary Is Not Left Alone said the judiciary serves as a bulwark against tyranny in the society . He noted that present day , society now operates on multiple power centres that minimize vices but today oppression of the weak and the vulnerable by so called The Mighty and Well placed , have become the order of the day it behoves on the judiciary to defend the rights of the innocent, the weak and the vulnerable .

The governor noted that effective judiciary is closely linked to activate protection of Lives and properties and the major role of the judiciary is defending the rights of the Common man. He maintained that these rights would have been eroded by some dangerous institutions and individuals if not for the Judiciary . He emphasized the importance of this arm of government to the society .

He noted that the completion of the Umuene Court Complex which was started October 2024 is one of the 17 Court Houses he promised to build across the 17 LGAs of the state and a delivery of his campaign promises he made to the judiciary during his electioneering campaign days .

The governor commended the state’s Arthony General and Commissioner for Justice , Barr. Ikechukwu Uwanna and the state’s Chief Judge Hon. Lilian Abai for their cooperation with the Executive arm of government saying the judiciary is not left alone in his administration.

Responding the Arthony General and Commissioner for Justice Barr Ikechukwu Uwanna thanked the governor for his good gestures to the state disclosing that the Complex was well equipped and it shall be used for dispensation of good justice in the state .
