OFUJI FISHES FOR NEW STARS ON THE HORIZON

The OFUJI All White Fire ’n’ Thanksgiving Party (FNYTP) returns for its third edition with a renewed focus on discovering and promoting emerging musical talents from Abia State, reinforcing the idea that global success begins with local recognition.

Branded “A Match Between a Globally Known Sound Versus Sound From the Hood,” the event underscores a widely held belief in the creative industry: every global star was once a local sensation.

This view aligns with the insight of brand consultant Archana S., who noted that a star does not become global merely by travelling well, but by being deeply and unmistakably understood at home.

Abia State has produced notable secular music acts such as Ruff Coin Nwa Aba and Exnel, widely regarded as two of the state’s most influential musicians of this era. Their journeys from local acclaim to wider recognition serve as inspiration for a new generation of artistes.
In continuation of this legacy, Dr. China Anyaso, convener of the OFUJI movement, will on Thursday, January 1, 2026, host the OFUJI All White FNYTP at the OFUJI Arena, providing a major platform for previously unknown but promising talents from across Abia State to showcase their skills.

Organisers say the initiative is designed not only to entertain but also to mentor, spotlight and empower grassroots artistes, positioning them for broader opportunities within Nigeria’s competitive music industry.

Through the OFUJI Arena and its associated cultural events, the OFUJI movement and the Chima Anyaso Foundation continue to promote creativity, youth empowerment and cultural pride, while affirming Abia State’s growing influence in Nigeria’s contemporary music scene.
