WRONGLY DEMOTED AND RETIRED ABSU STAFF APPEAL TO GOVERNOR OTTI FOR HELP AND RESTORATION

A former forcefully and wrongly demoted and retired staff of Abía State University Uturu Mr Ifeanyichukwu Orji have Appealed to the state governor Dr. Alex Óttï to come to his rescue by getting him restored and paying him all the years he was unjustly denied work and wages without any justifiable or unjustifiable reason.

Narrating his ordeal recently in Unuahia , Mr Orji a former Assitnt Chief Security Officer staff of ABSU said the saga started in 2010 when there was a fracas in ABSU Uturu and a visitation panel was set up by the Abía State government to among other things investigate events going on in the school.

At the end of their task , the panel headed by Hon. Justice COC Izima retired came out with their white paper which recommended among other things for the demotion of the Assistant Chief Security Officer of the Unuiversity Mr Ifeanyichukwu Orji from Hatis 11 to Hatis 7. Apart from this he was recommended for immediate compulsory retirement from service. The panel gave no reason for this punitive stand on Mr. Ifeanyichukwu Orji .

Continuing , Mr. ORJI said a second panel came 2012 to do same job as the Isima led panel. Mr Orji complained in writing to the second panel about the inhuman treatment metted to him by the Isima panel .

He called for a thorough investigation into the report of the Isima panel maintaining that he did nothing wrong to warrant his forceful demotion and retirement. Me Orji said the Izima panel did not State his wrong doing because there was none . The second panel investigated thoroughly and found out that he did nothing wrong not even one and so called for the reinstatement of his initial grade of Hatis 11 and cancelled the forceful retirement, stating clearly in their white paper that he should unconditionally be reinstated back to his duty.

This position Mr. Orji said was widely accepted by both the government and the university authority. He said he waited for several months for the school authority to call him back to work , when this did not happen , he began to remind those Concerned about his recall back letter. as recommended by the white paper of the second panel . According to him, he was later told the government’ would have to write to this effect before the school AUthority can act .

He doubted the sincerity of this statement since he was demoted and retired through the white paper from Izima panel and another white paper said he should be recalled ,why waiting for government, before he could be recalled .

It is on this premise that Mr. Orji is seeking for Dr. Alex Óttï the governor’s intervention to rescue him and his family from continuous starvation and abject poverty. He disclosed that he has once had an interface with the governor’s. Chief of Staff over the matter and the out come was not savoury to him, hence his plea to the governor, to most kindly handle this issue himself saying that the government Dr. Alex Óttï is a people oriented government , excellent in Administration and development , abhor falsehood and oppression of the poor and the down throden .
