PROF MADUEBIBISI OFO IWE SET TO QUIT AS VICE CHANCELLOR OF MOUAU

The activities to mark the final exit of the 6th Vice Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike MOUAU Prof Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe , have reached an advanced stage.

The Vice Chancellor on Monday told media men at the Vice Chancellor’s Conference hall that come 26th of February 2026 at 12.00 midnight , he would seize to be the VC of MOUAU . This he said is as a
result of the completion of his 5 years tenure as VC of the School .

Speaking further in the media parley Prof . Iwe said he called the media to say thank you to them for the cooperation they gave to his administration . He used the occassion to reel out some of his modest achievements his administration recorded within the 5 years he spent as Vice Chancellor of the University.
According to him his stay saw the upgrading of MOUAU Business School to an enviable height. One other achievement that gladdens his heart is his ability to create absolute peace and tranquility within the School environment . He maintained that There is peace between Staff and Students, between the Management team and the Staff and Students.

Prof Iwe observed that he was able to secure a certificate of occupancy from the Abia State government’ for the permanent site of the school and was able to build a 1000 capacity ultra modern Theatre hall at the permanent site and the school witnessed the increase of Professors in the school within his tenure .

As the public Relation Officer of the Institution Dr.Ubadire Agua puts it , Prof Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe made some modest contributions that open up the university to national and international attraction which include moving into and developing the University’s permanent site , Internationalizing the university through coloborations and linkages , investment in smart agriculture and agricultural entrepreneurship, achieving steady power supply for the university including restoration of delisted academic programmes and introduction of new ones , amongst several other achievements credited to his administration.

The out going Vice Chancellor used the opportunity to introduce the in coming VC ,Prof Mrs Ursula Ngozi Akanwa whom he expressed the confidence would take the University to the next level .
