Abia Group Endorses Otti for Second Term, Cites Performance

A political group, Change-Abia Organisation, led by former governorship candidate, Regan Ufomba, has endorsed Alex Otti for a second term in office.

The endorsement followed a crucial meeting attended by the organisation’s leadership, executive members, local government area coordinators, and leaders of its 197 affiliate groups.

The meeting was held at Ufomba’s residence, popularly known as “Heaven is Real,” in Umuogele Ntigha.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the group attributed its decision to what it described as the governor’s outstanding performance within his first 35 months in office.

The organisation, which includes the Association of Village Heads in Abia State alongside its numerous affiliate groups, maintained that Otti’s achievements distinguish him as one of the most effective leaders in the state’s history.

According to the group, after assessing other potential aspirants for the governorship position, Governor Otti stands out above his contemporaries.

It advised other aspirants to reconsider investing time and resources in the race.

The group further declared its readiness to mobilise support for Otti’s re-election bid in 2027, regardless of political party affiliations, stressing that he deserves another term to consolidate on his developmental strides.

Ufomba urged residents and stakeholders to rally behind the governor, noting that commendations of Otti’s performance have extended beyond Abia State.

He highlighted key areas of impact to include road construction, transportation, urban renewal, and initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of the people.

Ufomba reiterated that, based on his track record, Governor Otti has earned the right to seek re-election.
