Day One of Free Eye Outreach Restores Hope in Bende through Chima Anyaso Foundation and Precious Sight Foundation

Residents of Bende turned out in large numbers on Monday as the Chima Anyaso Foundation, in partnership with Rebirth Ministries and powered by the OFUJI Movement, commenced its free eye-care outreach aimed at improving access to quality vision care for people in the area.

The outreach, supported by Precious Sight Foundation, attracted elderly men and women who had lived for years with blurred vision, young people struggling with poor sight, and mothers who had found it difficult to clearly recognise the faces of their loved ones.

Medical personnel at the outreach conducted eye examinations, offered professional consultations, and provided glasses to beneficiaries whose sight challenges were diagnosed during the exercise.

Many of the beneficiaries expressed joy and gratitude after receiving treatment, as emotional scenes unfolded with several participants smiling, laughing, and quietly reflecting on what many described as a life-changing intervention.

Organisers said the outreach was more than a medical exercise, describing it as a demonstration of service, compassion, and commitment to the wellbeing of the people of Bende.

They commended the medical team, volunteers, and partners for their sacrifice and dedication, noting that their efforts made the successful take-off of the outreach possible.

The organisers also assured residents that the intervention would continue in the coming days, stressing that more people would benefit as the programme progresses.

According to them, the free eye-care initiative marks the beginning of broader efforts to reach more communities and improve the quality of life of residents across Bende.
