Chima Anyaso Foundation, Rebirth Ministries Launch Free Eye Care Outreach in Bende.

Residents of Bende Local Government Area of Abia State are set to benefit from a five-day free eye care outreach being organised by the Chima Anyaso Foundation in partnership with Rebirth Ministries and Precious Sight Foundation.

The programme, tagged “5-Day Free Rebirth Ministries Sight Outreach,” is scheduled to hold from Monday, May 4 to Friday, May 8, 2026, at the Ofuji Resource Centre, opposite Mark Onyeka Fuel Station, Igbere Junction, Igbere, Bende LGA.

Organisers said the outreach is aimed at improving access to quality eye care services for residents across the local government area.
During the exercise, participants will receive free eye screening, free reading glasses, and free prescription glasses. Services will be available daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

To ensure wider participation, free transportation has been arranged for residents from the 13 wards in Bende Federal Constituency.

According to the schedule, residents of Igbere Wards A and B will be attended to on Monday; Item Wards A, B and C on Tuesday; Alayi and Ugwueke Ezeukwu on Wednesday; Umuhu, Ozuitem, Uzuakoli and Umuimenyi/Nkpa on Thursday; while Bende and Itumbuzor will be covered on Friday.

Designated contact persons have also been provided in the various wards to coordinate movement and participation.

The organisers disclosed that the programme has received the approval of the Abia State Government.

Powered by the Fuji Movement, the organisers urged residents, especially those with eye-related challenges, to take advantage of the free medical outreach by attending on the dates scheduled for their respective wards.

They also advised participants to arrive early to ensure smooth registration and prompt access to services.
