PDP Candidate Unveils 2027 Campaign Strategy for Isuikwuato Assembly Seat

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Isuikwuato State Constituency in the 2027 Abia State House of Assembly election, Hon. Mayor Kingsley Okoronkwo (MKO), has unveiled a comprehensive campaign schedule anchored on stakeholder engagement, community service, grassroots mobilisation and issue-based advocacy.

The campaign council, in a statement outlining its activities ahead of the election scheduled for Saturday, February 6, 2027, said the programme would be implemented in phases, beginning with pre-campaign consultations and structural consolidation before the commencement of the official campaign period.

According to the council, the first phase, which runs from September 9 to December 1, 2026, is focused on stakeholder consultations, community service and strengthening the campaign structure across Isuikwuato State Constituency.
It said the consultation tour would cover political leaders and ward executives, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community leaders, professional and trade associations, farmers’ groups, cooperatives, non-indigenous residents and persons with disabilities.

The council also announced plans to appoint and train ward and polling unit coordinators and agents, while activating 27 ward WhatsApp platforms under the “Isuikwuato Connect” initiative to facilitate civic education, communication and feedback.

It said selected community intervention projects would also be implemented under the “MKO Cares Initiative”, describing the approach as part of the candidate’s service-led political strategy.

The second phase, scheduled for December 2, 2026 to February 4, 2027, will constitute the official campaign period, during which the campaign council plans to embark on zonal rallies, media engagements, ward-to-ward town hall meetings, market and motor park sensitisation, as well as youth and women’s engagements.

The council further disclosed that the campaign would focus on key issues affecting the constituency, including education, agriculture, youth empowerment and infrastructure, through the “MKO Answers Isuikwuato” series and the rollout of the candidate’s manifesto and policy proposals.

It added that the final weeks of the campaign would feature constituency-wide rallies, polling unit validation, voter education and final ward consolidation visits, culminating in a grand finale and thanksgiving rally on February 4, 2027.

The campaign council said there would be no campaign activities on February 5, designated as campaign silence day, while its election-day operations on February 6 would involve polling unit agents, a situation room and a legal team.

Explaining its strategy, the council said the campaign would be driven by service-led politics, early stakeholder engagement, digital communication and issue-based advocacy, with the objective of presenting Okoronkwo as a candidate committed to serving the constituency.

The council described the strategy as positioning MKO as “The Brother Who Served Before Asking,” and pledged to conduct its activities in accordance with applicable electoral guidelines.

It urged stakeholders and residents of Isuikwuato State Constituency to participate actively in the process, saying the campaign was designed to build relationships, address community concerns and promote effective representation.
