Labour Party ward chairmen across Bende Federal Constituency have thrown their weight behind the party’s 2027 House of Representatives candidate, Dr. Chima Desmond Anyaso, assuring him of massive grassroots mobilisation and support ahead of the election.

The ward chairmen gave the assurance on Thursday when they met with Anyaso at his country home in Igbere, Bende Local Government Area, as part of efforts to consolidate the party’s structures and prepare for the 2027 electoral contest.

Chairman of the Council of Ward Chairmen and Labour Party Chairman of Item Ward B, Pastor Thomas Ukonu, said the ward executives were fully committed to Anyaso’s candidacy and would work to mobilise voters across the constituency for the Labour Party.

Ukonu stressed that the ward structures remained the backbone of the party at the grassroots, calling for stronger cooperation and communication between Anyaso, the party leadership and ward executives.
He assured that the ward chairmen would continue to play their roles in strengthening the party and expanding its support base across Bende.

Responding, Anyaso assured the ward leaders that his commitment to the Labour Party would not end with the 2027 election, declaring that he was interested in building a political structure that would outlive the electoral cycle.

The candidate said he was already putting mechanisms in place to ensure that the Labour Party remained strong, organised and sustainable in Bende beyond 2027.
According to him, the objective was to create a political platform that would provide opportunities for party members and remain relevant long after the election.

Anyaso also pledged to carry the ward chairmen and other grassroots stakeholders along in his political engagements, stressing that no political organisation could achieve lasting success without the active participation of its grassroots structures.

The meeting formed part of Anyaso’s ongoing consultations with Labour Party leaders and grassroots structures across Bende Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 House of Representatives election.
