ABIA STATE GOVERNOR DISTRIBUTES 28 VEHICLES FREE TO PERMANENT SECRETARIES

Abia State Governor Dr . Alex Chioma Otti have on the evening of 21st October 2025 at the newly retrofitted Michael Okpara Auditorium Umuahia given the 28 Permanent Secretaries in the state a brand new Vehicle free to each of them .

Performing this duty, the governor said he is doing this to thank them for their hard work and dedication to duty , saying he had never had any issue with any Permanent Secretary in the State He charged the 28 permanent Secretaries in the state to continue to be dedicated to their work saying that to whom much is given much is expected . He urged the Permanent Secretaries to be part of the on going transformation of the civil service noting that civil service in the state would be completely digitalized .

Responding on behalf of all the permanent Secretaries, Pastor Uche Ukeje of the ministry of Petroleum thanked the governor for his kind gesture to the permanent Secretaries saying it is least expected however were are grateful and we say thank you . He promised that the permanent Secretaries would work harder to enable the government achieve the digitalization of the civil service .

In a separate chart , the permanent Secretary ministry of Information Chief Chris Onwuegbu appreciated the governor for the gift saying this is the first time all Permanent Secretaries in the state are receiving car gift from a governor. According to him one of the past administration that made such attempt , gave only female Permanent secretaries car gift while their male counterparts were not considered. He once again thanked governor Otti for remembering parmenent Secretaries of all the Ministries saying that the governor is always doing things that are not just first of it’s kind but worthy of emulation .

The high light of the event was the hand over of the keys and particulars of the vehicles to the permanent Secretaries . The occasion attracted eminent personalities a cross the state including top government’ Officials.
