Abia Police Command Hosts MACS Project Team for Phase II Implementation

The Abia State Police Command has received the Mutual Accountability and Community Scorecard (MACS) Project Team on a courtesy visit as part of the commencement of the initiative’s Phase II implementation in the state.

The Project Team Led by Dr. Emeka Ononamadu, Executive Director of the Citizens Centre for Integrated Development and Social Rights (CCIDESOR), the delegation met with the Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, at the Command Headquarters, Umuahia.

Phase II of the MACS Initiative is set to begin on October 28, 2025, and will cover police divisions under Umuahia North and Akwete Area Commands. The visit follows a Learning Exchange Workshop on the initiative held on October 13, 2025, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The workshop was supported by UK International Development and International Alert, in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force.

The MACS Initiative, which commenced in Abia State in late 2024, seeks to strengthen police-community relations by identifying and addressing challenges that impede mutual trust and collaboration between law enforcement and the public.

Welcoming the team, CP Danladi Isa expressed appreciation for the ongoing partnership and pledged the Command’s full support for the project.

He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to the Inspector-General of Police’s directive on community policing, emphasizing the importance of fostering cooperation, peace, and security across the state.
