ABIA STATE GOVT TO REDEDICATE ABIA TO GOD FOR FORGIVENESS OF SIN AND PEACE DURING ELECTION David Maduako –Umuahia

Abía State government say she would Rededicate the state to God for sins committed in past regimes and for peace to reign in the state during the oncoming electioneering campaign era.

Addressing Newsmen at the government house yesterday the 18th of September 2026 , the Commissioner for Information Prince Okey kanu who came in company of the Commissioner for Local Government And Chieftaincy Affair’s Prince Uzor Nwachukwu, said the state government have reviewed some past events in the state and come to the conclusion that there is every need to rededicate the state to God especially now that election is around the corner .

The theme of the rededication programme is ‘Solemn Assembly and Convenant Renewal’ Service noting that Abía State had always been in the hands of God , especially now that the electioneering events would soon commence nation wide Speaking the State Coordinator of the programme Prince Uzor Nwachukwu who is also the state Commissioner for Local Government And Chieftaincy Affair said the present administration in the state kicked off in 2023, by first dedicating the state to God .

According to him the state government considering some ugly incidents that occured in the state during the past regimes which portrayed the state in bad light and to a great extent stained the image of the state, there is every need to seek the face of God for forgiveness of sins committed in the state by past regimes.

Such misdemeanors as the Okija Shrine saga and the Osisikangwu massacre of innocent souls in the state and many more such sins committed against God that requires atonement of sins to God ,hence the State Governor called for another Rededication of the state to God . Prince Nwachukwu said the dedication would start on the 24th of September 2026 with a thanks giving service which will take place at the Ultra_modern jack building Ogurube Layout Umuahia.

He said the rededication service would be in three different phases. The first stage shall take place on the 24th of September , it would be a thanks giving service not meant for all but for the governor and his Deputy , all political Appointees both at the state and local government level , all elected officers both at the State and LGA level.

The second stage, day two , would be on the 26th of September 2026 being a Saturday shall be dedicated to all Adventist churches and Sabaterians who worship God on Saturdays , and the final stage would be on the 27th of September 2026, being a Sunday, which would be for every body , for all Abians, the Commissioner stated .

The programmes of the event would be preceded by three days fasting and prayers for the success of the program and the state . It shall be a solemn assembly on to the lord . End. .
