Anyaso Pays Final Tribute to Late Pastor Mrs. Ihuoma Dike, Commends Husband’s Commitment to OFUJI Project

The Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, Dr. Chima Desmond Anyaso, on Saturday paid his final respects to the late Pastor Mrs. Ihuoma Irene Dike, wife of the Director-General of the Chima Anyaso Campaign Organisation, Pastor Okechukwu Dike.

The deceased was laid to rest at her husband’s compound in Amaegbuato, Nkpa, Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, after a funeral service attended by family members, friends, political associates, religious leaders and other sympathisers.
Pastor Mrs. Ihuoma Dike, who died on April 24, 2026, at the age of 51, was mourned by members of the community and well-wishers who gathered to honour her memory and console the bereaved family.

Anyaso, who had earlier attended the deceased’s Service of Songs on Friday night, described her death as shocking and painful, particularly because she was the wife of a close associate and a key member of his campaign organisation.

While commiserating with Pastor Dike and his family, Anyaso urged them to remain strong and draw strength from their faith in God, noting that the loss of a loved one was one of the most difficult experiences anyone could face.

He also commended Pastor Dike for what he described as his exceptional commitment to the OFUJI political project despite the personal tragedy he was going through.
According to Anyaso, the Campaign Director-General demonstrated uncommon dedication by continuing to contribute to the political project even while mourning his wife.

“Even in the midst of this unfortunate situation, he stood his ground and even performed more than we expected,” Anyaso said.

He urged Pastor Dike to remain steadfast, assuring him that his sacrifices and commitment to the OFUJI project would not go unnoticed.
“Continue to be good, God will continue to bless you,” he added.

The Labour Party candidate also used the occasion to emphasise the importance of character in public life, particularly for individuals aspiring to political leadership.
He said character remained one of the most enduring measures of a person’s worth, stressing that material possessions could be acquired and lost but integrity would continue to define an individual.“We live in a world when money is no longer valuable. The most valuable quality is character,” Anyaso said.

He further said his commitment to the political process was driven by his belief in personal integrity and public service rather than the pursuit of wealth.
“That is why as I campaign, my opponent will never find out anything against me,” he said.

Anyaso prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and asked God to grant Pastor Dike, his children and the entire Dike family the strength to bear the loss.

In a vote of thanks, Pastor Okechukwu Dike expressed appreciation to family members, friends, political associates, religious leaders and other sympathisers who stood by the family during the period of mourning.
