Presbyterian Church Hosts Grand Investiture for Aba Synod Brigade Chairman

In a vibrant and spiritually uplifting ceremony, the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Aba Synod, held a grand investiture on Sunday in honor of Ezinna Chief Dr. Jerry O. Kalu, who was formally inaugurated as the Chairman of the Aba Synod Brigade Patrons Forum.

The event, held at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Ogbor Hill Parish, attracted a large gathering of dignitaries, clergy, brigade members, and community leaders from across Abia State, highlighting the significance of the occasion.

Representing the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, the Deputy Governor, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, congratulated Dr. Kalu, describing his investiture as a well-deserved recognition of his steadfast faith and distinguished service to both church and society.

“This honor is a testament to your unwavering faith in God, your exceptional commitment to service, and your generous contributions to the growth of the Church and the advancement of humanity,” the Governor stated in his message.

Governor Otti further commended Dr. Kalu’s leadership qualities, particularly his dedication to the spiritual and moral development of the youth.

“As you assume this new office, you do so at a time when our society is in dire need of leaders who exemplify integrity, discipline, and devotion. I am confident that under your leadership, the Aba Synod Brigade will become a beacon of hope—deepening evangelism, nurturing spiritual growth, and strengthening character development,” he said.

He assured the Church of the state government’s continued support, noting that the achievements of individuals like Dr. Kalu are a source of pride for Abia State.

In his acceptance speech, Ezinna Chief Dr. Jerry O. Kalu expressed deep gratitude to the state government and the Church for the honor bestowed upon him. He dedicated the recognition to God and pledged to lead with humility, vision, and a servant’s heart.

“I sincerely thank the Government of Abia State, ably led by His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, for celebrating with us today. I pray for God’s guidance as I take on this sacred assignment,” Dr. Kalu said.

The ceremony was also marked by moments of worship, scriptural reflection, and celebration. Two Bible readings highlighted the spiritual tone of the service: Genesis 18:16–19, read by Dr. Kalu, and Acts 18:24–28, read by Deputy Governor Emetu.

The investiture represents a significant milestone for the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, reinforcing its commitment to nurturing strong leadership and youth engagement through the Presbyterian Brigade a vital platform for instilling faith, discipline, and community service among young people.
