IGP Reform Drive: Abia Police Command Concludes Phase II of Mutual Accountability, Community Scorecard Initiative
The Abia State Police Command has concluded the Phase II implementation of the Mutual Accountability and Community Scorecard Initiative, a key component of the Inspector General of Police Reform Agenda aimed at strengthening police community collaboration across the country.
The second phase of the exercise, earlier conducted between October 28 and 30, 2025, covered divisions under the Umuahia Area Command (Batch A) and the Akwete Area Command (Batch B).
On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, officers from both area commands converged with community representatives to review previously identified challenges affecting police community relations and to assess progress made so far.
Discussions focused on critical issues such as public trust, security education, improved patience and civility during engagements, and better accessibility to the Command’s official social media channels and emergency contact lines. Participants also examined broader factors essential to enhancing cooperation and mutual accountability.
Representing the Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, ACP George Enaholo, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Administration), commended the project facilitators led by Dr. Emeka Ononamadu, Executive Director of the Citizens Centre for Integrated Development and Social Rights (CCIDESOR). He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment under the leadership of CP Danladi Isa, the 34th Commissioner of Police in the state to advancing the IGP’s vision of a professionally competent, service-driven, rule-of-law-compliant, and people-friendly Police Force.
ACP Enaholo stressed that the Command will continue to deepen its partnership with residents, describing members of the public as crucial stakeholders in crime prevention and overall security management.
The conference ended on a positive note, with participants expressing renewed commitment, strengthened unity, and clearer understanding toward building a safer and more secure Abia State for all.
