Former Abia Newspapers staff condole Ambassador Oguama on mother’s death

Former staff of Abia Newspapers and Publishing Corporation (ANPC) from 1992 – 2003 have commiserated with one of their bereaved member, Ambassador Chris Ugochukwu Oguama on the death of his mother, late Madam Beatrice Uchumkpa Oguama.

Speaking during the interment of late Mrs. Beatrice Oguama at her husband’s Compound Etitinabu Autonomous Community Isiama Afara in Umuahia North Local Government Area, the leader of the delegation and Vice-Chairman of the group, Comrade (Sir) Uzomba Ekwuribe extolled the virtues of the deceased and for impacting in her children great attributes of humility, dedication and commitment to duties which Ambassador Chris Ugochukwu Oguama was noted for during his working days at the Corporation.
Sir Ekwuribe urged the children to take solace in the good life their mother lived and the good testimonies of those who crossed her path and continued to uphold those qualities she was known for and impacted in them.
Responding on behalf of the family, Ambassador Oguama thanked his former colleagues for identifying with his family during this trial time and commended them for sustaining the great Ambasdador sprint, unity of purpose and bond of fellowship, the 1992-2003 set of the staff of the Corporation were noted for.
Earlier during the funeral service conducted by the Assemblies of God Church Nigeria, the District Superintendent of the Church, Umuahia Central Jerusalem District, the Rev Henry Emelike reminded people that whatsoever seed one sows on earth, he/she shall reap it and enjoined them not to take the grace of God for granted.
Rev Emelike reminded the people of judgement day awaiting every mortal and stressed the need for obedience to the word of God by abstaining from sins that could hinder the manifestation of God in one’s life.
In his tribute, the third son of the deceased, Ambassador Chris Ugochukwu Oguama recall all the sacrifices and support his late mother rendered to him, and described her as a woman of faith, home builder, and appreciated her for inculcating good morals in them.
In their funeral oration, the grandchild of the deceased, Favour Balogun, described her late grandmother as a woman of substance and a devoted Christian who stood tall for excellence in all human endeavours, adding that the family will greatly miss her.
Aged 103, Late Mrs. Beatrice Uchumkpa Oguama was survived by her children, grandchildren, and host of other relatives.
The association later through the retired Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Common Services, Deacon Uzoma Isiakpu, presented a condolence purse to the bereaved family.
Some former staff who worked in the Corporation between 1992 and 2003 attended the burial ceremony.
