ASUBEB CHAIRMAN COMMISSIONS TWO CLASSROOM BLOCK IN AHUWA COMMUNITY SCHOOL

The Executive Chairman of Abia State Universal Basic Education Board ASUBEB , lady Lydia Ezihe Onuoha , have Commissioned Two Classroom Block at Ahuwa Community School in Ikwuano LGA .

Speaking during the event , the Executive Chairman of ASUBEB Lady Onuoha commended the Egesie family for building the two classroom block for the Educational development of the students of the school . She stated that what the Egesie family have done is in line with what the state governor of the state Dr. Alex Chioma Otti is doing in the Educational sector through the Commissioner for Education Elder Good luck Ubochi and ASUBEB noting that the governor is spending so much on education accross the state.

She charged members of Ahuwa community to endeavour to maintain the building by keeping it clean and new , at all times . Lady Onuoha promised to select some teachers of the school for ICT training so they could inturn teach the children ICT saying she would convert the new building into an ICT Centre , provide some tables and chairs for the furnishing of the building and books for the Students.

Speaking , the Education Secretary of Ikwuano LGA Dr. Paul Ifeanyi Udensi commended the ASUBEB Boss , Lady Lydia Onuoha for coming to commission the project. He observed that the project compliments what the governor is doing at the state level through the ministry of education and ASUBEB.

Earlier In her welcome address ,the Head Teacher of the School, Mrs Iroabuchi Goodness Queen expressed joy at the presence of the Executive Chairman Lady Onuoha and her entourage for the commissioning of the two classroom block . She thanked the Ubochi Egesie Foundation and Mrs Wogu Charity Ekeoma for spear heading the project including Elder David Okezie Egesie for supervising the project from beginning to the end saying that the works of the Egesies in the school are immeasurable.

The Head Teacher requested for more teachers to be posted to the school ,provide water bore hole , including seats and tables for conducive learning environment .

In a separate chat with the press Elder David Okezie Egesie of Ubochi Egesie Foundation said the foundation attached much importance to education due to its value in the development of a child and the society . He recalled how his mother of blessed memory insisted he must go to Secondry School before going to learn a trade and this he said have helped him so much in life . His parents he said love education so much hence the family decided to establish an education based foundation in their memory .

Elder Egesie commended the state governor for his efforts in education describing him as a good man . He called on parents to encourage their children to be educated and all children should endeavour to go to school especially now that the governor have made basic education free .

The men and women wing of Ahuwa Community thanked the ASUBEB Chairman and her team for visiting their community to commission the two classroom block . They assured to keep the building and the entire school clean at all times . They requested the Authorities to pay closer attention to Ahuwa Community School for better educational development of the school.

Present during the event were the Clergy , the Abia State Nigeria Union of Teachers NUT, the PTA , among others .
