Namibian Governor, Nigerian Business Leader Forge Pan-African Development Partnership in Lagos

The Governor of Namibia’s Ohangwena Region, Hon. Kadiva Diana Hamutumwa, has met with Nigerian entrepreneur and Chairman of CAADES Group, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, in Lagos to explore strategic partnerships aimed at advancing pan-African trade, clean energy innovation, and youth-centered development initiatives.

The high-level meeting, held at the CAADES Group corporate headquarters, centered on expanding bilateral collaboration across key sectors such as cross-border trade, tourism and hospitality, sustainable transportation, and leadership exchange programs for young professionals.

Governor Hamutumwa toured several of CAADES Group’s flagship projects, including the E-Drive Electric Mobility Station and a premium boutique hotel in Lekki. She received detailed briefings on the company’s investments in clean energy and the hospitality industry.

Governor Hamutumwa, who assumed office on July 1, 2025, under the administration of President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, brings a wealth of corporate governance experience from her tenure at the Namibia Water Corporation (NamWater).

Expressing optimism about the engagement, she noted that the Lagos visit would strengthen economic ties and foster innovation in clean mobility, tourism, and youth empowerment between Namibia and Nigeria.

Both leaders described the meeting as a pivotal milestone in deepening inter-African cooperation and leveraging private-sector capacity to drive shared prosperity across the continent.

Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso commended Governor Hamutumwa’s leadership and forward-thinking vision, describing her as “a shining example of Africa’s next-generation leadership.”

He reaffirmed CAADES Group’s commitment to promoting continental economic integration and private-sector-led growth, emphasizing that Africa’s future depends on “strategic partnerships, shared knowledge, and robust public-private collaboration.”

Follow-up engagements are expected to define concrete project frameworks and investment linkages between the two countries.
