Reacting to the development, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Paul Eidson, expressed gratitude to the NUC and its Executive Secretary for their confidence in the institution. He commended the commission’s officials who conducted the resource verification exercise that preceded the approval.

Professor Eidson reaffirmed the university’s commitment to maintaining global standards, stating that Lux Mundi University will continue to collaborate with international partners to deliver world-class education and research opportunities.

Also speaking, the Pro-Chancellor, represented by Professor Austin Uwakwe, thanked the Abia State Government for providing a supportive and conducive environment for the institution’s growth. In her remarks, the Registrar, Mrs. Blessing Ibebunjo, praised the university’s team of seasoned professors and dedicated lecturers who ensure personalized teaching and mentorship. She revealed that a number of prospective students have already begun switching to Lux Mundi University on the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (JAMB CAPS) following the listing of the new programmes.

Mrs. Ibebunjo encouraged parents and candidates to take advantage of the opportunity by promptly changing their institution of choice to Lux Mundi University, Ibeku, Umuahia, to secure admission into the newly approved programmes.

She emphasized that the approval of the two new faculties has created more access to quality higher education for qualified candidates who were previously unable to gain admission elsewhere due to limited spaces.

She further highlighted that Lux Mundi University is a full boarding institution with students from over 31 states across Nigeria and beyond, dedicated to nurturing self-reliant, innovative, morally upright, and globally competitive graduates truly living up to its name, “Light to the World.”
